FOUNDATION

MISSION

The Beatrice Trussardi Foundation is a non-profit organisation which supports, produces, and showcases extraordinary site-specific art installations in unusual locations internationally. Launched in 2021 by the Italian cultural entrepreneur Beatrice Trussardi, the Foundation expands on an international level the acclaimed model of the “nomadic museum”, first established by Fondazione Nicola Trussardi in the city of Milan and within Italy. The Beatrice Trussardi Foundation offers a programme of ground-breaking interventions in exceptional settings worldwide, alongside pioneering research and study projects.

Placed under the artistic direction of Massimiliano Gioni, the Foundation invites artists with a particular sensitivity to their contexts, who engage with their environments and find bold ways to surprise, entice, and interact with both local and international audiences. Faithful to the long-term vision and founding values of the organisation, the Foundation facilitates discoveries, encourages participation, and stimulates vital conversations. Pressing issues such as climate change, identity and gender inequalities, human rights, innovation, and talent empowerment all sit at the core of its art programme and research. The research programme will be headed by Giuliano da Empoli.

The Foundation prides itself on its dynamism and agility – the programme is continuously in evolution and sparks out of spontaneous encounters and exchanges, from ongoing dialogues with artists, curators, writers, and thinkers.

The Beatrice Trussardi Foundation is not a private collection: the commissioned artworks remain with the artists and the research developed as part of its projects is always freely accessible to the public.
